Happy days again for Dewan family
NEW DELHI: Sunshine days are back for the Dewan couple. Its been a week since their one-and-a-half-year-old son, Arpit, returned to the warmth of his home after being kidnapped by the domestic help, Savitri. And life is returning to normal for this household in Sriniwaspuri.
After all, what can be more normal than playing with elder brother Ayush who is four years old? "Initially Arpit was cranky.

He wouldn''t take food properly and used to be scared while sleeping. But now he is recovering," says Bharti, Arpit''s mother. Arpit has been down with a cold and diarrhoea ever since he returned. "Maybe it''s due to the unhygienic conditions that he was living in while he was away from home," she adds. Arpit will be taken for a routine medical check-up soon.
The trauma over, the Dewans are now adjusting to new-found stardom. "But the crowds have started irritating the baby," says Bharti.
Ayush has started going to school and Arvind Dewan has resumed office. But Bharti is taking a break.
She''s been on leave ever since the kidnapping took place. "I want to spend some more time with the children," she says. She''s also wary of keeping a domestic help.
"I have had enough of them. I can''t trust anyone now," she says. "Arpit is such a vibrant baby. I am surprised how Savitri hid him in the shawl for a week."
But she has much to be thankful for. Especially the Delhi Police who traced her baby so fast. "The police have been very helpful. I have no words to express my gratitude to them," she says.
